Good day to my dear readers. I have given some of my tried out recipes that really give treat to your buds. As of now snacks becomes a major part of every age groups we can try out using healthy stuff. As most of the snacks are been made out of maida(all purpose flour) we are moving towards unhealthy foods. So, we can try out such foods using wheat, which is nutritious to our health. Try it out and stay healthy.
1. WHEAT UPMA
INGREDIENTS
Whole wheat 100g
Onion 1
Dry chillies 2
Curry leaves 5
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Urud daal ½ tsp
Oil 2 tsp
Salt
Water
PREPARATION
Dry roast the whole wheat and grind it coarsely. Keep aside
Take kadai and add 2 tsp of oil
Once it gets heat add mustard seeds and urud dal
Now add curry leaves and dry chillies
Add onions and roast it for sometime
Then add the grinded wheat and fry it few minutes
Add salt as per taste
Finally add boiled hot water, mix it well and close with lid for few minutes
Once wheat gets cooked switch off the stove and its ready to serve
2.WHEAT PUTTU
INGREDIENTS
Whole wheat 100g
Sugar 75g
Grated coconut ½ cup
Salt for taste
Ghee 2 tsp
PREPARATION
Roast wheat and grind it in mixer bit coarsely
Now take warm water with salt and drizzle it on the wheat flour, then mix it
Continue this till whole flour get wetted by drizzling water.
Note that it should not become sticky
Then place the flour in the cotton cloth and steam it
After getting cooked add ghee and spread
Now add grated coconut, sugar and mix well
Very healthy steamed puttu is ready to taste
3.WHEAT HALWA
INGREDIENTS
Wheat flour 1/2cup
Ghee ½ cup
Sugar 1 cup
Cashews
PREPARATION
Roast wheat flour in a kadai. Be careful, don’t make it burn. Roast it in a low flame
After that take a bowl and mix with water leave it for 2 hrs
Then filter it using a metal strainer
Keep the collected milk aside for 15 minutes undisturbed. Now strain it and your wheat flour milk is ready
Now take a heavy bottomed kadai and place it in a low flame
Add some ghee and fry the cashews, take out the cashews and keep aside
Now add the wheat flour milk and stir it continuously in a low flame
When it becomes slightly thick, add sugar and mix well
Then add rest of the gheelittle by little stirring continuously
You have to stir continuously without stopping in very low flame until the halwa starts leaving the sides of the kadai
In this stage immediately transfer it to the ghee greased pan
Spread with fried cashews and allow it to cool
After getting cool your halwa is ready to scoop and enjoy
4. WHEAT PAKODA
INGREDIENTS
wheat flour 100g
onions 2
grated carrot 1
chilli powder 2tsp
currry leaves
salt
water
PREPARATION
take wheat flour in a bowl
add chopped onions, grated carrot, chilli powder, chopped curry leaves, salt as per taste
mix it well, then add water little by little and mix it to a pakoda batter consistency
leave it for 5 to 10 minutes
now heat oil in a kadai
split your pakoda on to it and deep fyr it till it becomes crisp texture
now take it out and serve hot with coconut chutney if required
5. WHEAT GHEER
INGREDIENTS
wheat rava 1cup
milk ½ lit
sugar 2cups
cashews
dry grapes
milk maid
PREPARATION
Heat a kadai, add 3 tsp ghee and fry yours cashews and dry grapes
take out that and now add wheat rava and fry it for few minutes
then add 1 cup of boiled milk and 1 cup of water
once your wheat gets cooked finely add sugar and mix it continuously
now add 3 to 5 spoons of ghee
