Fun Games for parties and family get together

Parties and get-togethers without games are no fun. A host will be always looking for new and exciting games which suits for Indian families and kids. Here I tried to present a list of such games, but the list is not exhaustive. All games are more fun if participants get distracted by your funny comments or conversations.

1. Arranging Pebbles on cooker gasket :
Items required: a big bowl of pebbles of different color, a cooker gasket
Time duration: 1 min
Rule: Participants should take one pebble at a time; only one particular colored pebble has to be arranged.
The game goes like this – The participant has to hold the gasket in one hand vertically and arrange the specified colored pebbles in the groove. The one who arranges maximum number of stones in 1 minute will be the winner of this game

2. Straw and Grains Game:

Items Required: straws – one for each participant, a bowl of mixed grains, an empty bowl, and a table.
Time duration 1 min
Rule: Only one grain at a time and only one hand to be used.
The game goes like this – the grains bowl and an empty bowl should be kept about 5 to 6 feet’s apart. The participant should pick one grain at a time in straw, the grain type can be decided by the host- and then transfer it to the second bowl. The one who puts highest number of grains will be the winner of this game.

3. Rolling pebbles Game:

Items required: 2 pebbles, a cooker gasket
Time duration: 1 min
Rule: Participants should not change or move the fingers.
The game goes like this – This is little tricky game in the beginning and requires more concentration. The participant has to hold the gasket in two hands up and down. The gasket will be having two pebbles in it. Now start rolling the pebbles in one direction. The participants have to complete as many circles as they can. The one who completes highest circles is the winner.

4. Card and Coins game :

Items required: a set of cards, a bowl coins of different denomination.
Time duration: 1 min
Rule: Only one hand to be used and only one coin to be picked at a time. A – 1
Q- 11 K- 12
The game goes like this – the participant should draw a card and place it on a table. Then according to the number written on the card he/she should count the coin from the bowl and place it on the card. Eg: if they pull card 3 then they should take 3 Rs from the bowl and place it on the card. The participant who arranges maximum card is the winner.

5. Coin on Thumb Game:
Items required: a bowl coins of different denomination
Time duration: 1 min
Rule: No body support should be allowed.
The game goes like this – the participant has to sit on a chair and keep his/her one elbow on the arm rest of the chair. The thumb should be stretched out. Then he/she must pick one coin at a time from the bowl and arrange it on the thumb. The one who arranges the maximum coin in one minute is the winner.

EASY AND HEALTHY LUNCH RECIPES FOR KIDS


Hi everyone, here i welcome you all with my good stuff. Nowadays our kids are too unique and they are expecting everything to be different from their circle. So they love to open their lunch box with surprisingly new dishes which make others to feel curious. As a mom, we have to make them satisfied in a healthy way. I have introduced few quick preparing recipes with the major ingredients, which our kids avoid to have usually. Please make a try with these following recipes and pack lunch boxes.

POTATO EGG RICE

INGREDIENTS

1 potato
1 egg
Curry leaves
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 ½ tsp chilli powder
½ tsp cumin seeds
100 gm cooked rice
3 tsp cooking oil
Salt
Cooked rice

PREPARATION

Heat kadai and add 2 tsp of oil
When oil gets heated add cumin seeds and curry leaves
Now add finely chopped potato. Let it be cooked.
Once potato gets cooked add eggs and to that add turmeric powder, chilly powder(pepper can also used instead of chilli powder), salt as for your kids taste. Mix well everything by adding 1tsp of oil
Now take it off from stove and keep aside for some 5 min. Later add cooked rice n mix it.

CARROT RICE

INGRIDIENTS

1 Onion
1 carrot
Curry leaves
1/4tsp mustard seeds
1/4tsp urad dal
2 dry chillies
2 tsp oil
salt
100g Cooked rice

PREPARATION

Heat a kadai and add oil to it. Then add mustard seeds and urad dal
Now add curry leaves, dry chillies and fry it
After add chopped onions till it turns to golden brown
Then add grated carrot, allow it to be half cooked
Now add salt, mix all together and add cooked rice
Mix well and your quick lunch is ready to pack

LADY FINGER PEPPER RICE

INGREDIENTS

100g lady finger
1 onion
2 tsp curd
4 tsp oil
¼ tsp Cumin seeds
2 ½ tsp pepper powder
¼ tsp turmeric powder
Salt
Cooked rice

PREPARATION

Switch on the stove. Place a kadai and add oil
Once oil gets heated add cumin seeds,chopped onions and fry them
Then add thinly sliced lady finger, toast it and add 2 tsp of curd in that.
After few minutes add turmeric powder, salt, pepper powder and mix up
Keep in low flame allow it to cook slowely
Once lady fingers came out of its sticky texture , then your dish is ready to take out from stove
Now add cooked rice and mix well. I am sure your kids will love it to have for their break

BRINJAL RICE

INGREDIENTS

2 brinjals
1 onion
150 ml coconut milk
3 tsp gingelly oil
¼ tsp turmeric powder
1 ½ tsp chilly powder
¼ tsp cumin seeds
Curry leaves
Salt
100g cooked rice

PREPARATION

Heat a kadai and add oil. Once it gets heat add your cumin seeds,curry leaves, chopped onions and fry up
Now add thinly sliced brinjals and toast it for few seconds
Then add salt and turmeric powder
Once the brinjal skin colour changes add chilly powder and mix well
After few minutes add coconut milk and close it by a lid. Cook in a low flame.
After 5 minutes remove the lid and mix well until it becomes dry
Now the dish is ready to mix with cooked rice and to pack

GROUNDNUT COCONUT RICE

INGREDIENTS

¼ cup grated coconut
¼ cup roughly grinded fried groundnut
2 green chillies
Curry leaves
2 tsp oil
¼ tsp mustard seeds
¼ tsp urad dal
Salt
100g cooked rice

PREPARATION

Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds,urad dal, curry leaves and sliced green chillies
Then add grated coconut and roughly grinded groundnut powder ,salt and fry them together well.
Colour of the coconut should not be changed. So carefully fry it in a low flame
It will cook in few minutes. Once it gets cooked allow it to cool and mix well wth cooked rice
Very interesting and healthy lunch is ready now

RECIPES USING WHEAT - TREAT YOUR TASTE BUDS WITH HEALTHY TOUCH

Good day to my dear readers. I have given some of my tried out recipes that really give treat to your buds. As of now snacks becomes a major part of every age groups we can try out using healthy stuff. As most of the snacks are been made out of maida(all purpose flour) we are moving towards unhealthy foods. So, we can try out such foods using wheat, which is nutritious to our health. Try it out and stay healthy.

1. WHEAT UPMA


INGREDIENTS

Whole wheat 100g
Onion 1
Dry chillies 2
Curry leaves 5
Mustard seeds ½ tsp
Urud daal ½ tsp
Oil 2 tsp
Salt
Water

PREPARATION

Dry roast the whole wheat and grind it coarsely. Keep aside
Take kadai and add 2 tsp of oil
Once it gets heat add mustard seeds and urud dal
Now add curry leaves and dry chillies
Add onions and roast it for sometime
Then add the grinded wheat and fry it few minutes
Add salt as per taste
Finally add boiled hot water, mix it well and close with lid for few minutes
Once wheat gets cooked switch off the stove and its ready to serve

2.WHEAT PUTTU

 INGREDIENTS

Whole wheat 100g
Sugar 75g
Grated coconut ½ cup
Salt for taste
Ghee 2 tsp

PREPARATION

Roast wheat and grind it in mixer bit coarsely
Now take warm water with salt and drizzle it on the wheat flour, then mix it
Continue this till whole flour get wetted by drizzling water.
Note that it should not become sticky
Then place the flour in the cotton cloth and steam it
After getting cooked add ghee and spread
Now add grated coconut, sugar and mix well
Very healthy steamed puttu is ready to taste

3.WHEAT HALWA

INGREDIENTS

Wheat flour 1/2cup
Ghee ½ cup
Sugar 1 cup
Cashews

PREPARATION

Roast wheat flour in a kadai. Be careful, don’t make it burn. Roast it in a low flame
After that take a bowl and mix with water leave it for 2 hrs
Then filter it using a metal strainer
Keep the collected milk aside for 15 minutes undisturbed. Now strain it and your wheat flour milk is ready
Now take a heavy bottomed kadai and place it in a low flame
Add some ghee and fry the cashews,  take out the cashews and keep aside
Now add the wheat flour milk and stir it continuously in a low flame
When it becomes slightly thick, add sugar and mix well
Then add rest of the gheelittle by little stirring continuously
You have to stir continuously without stopping in very low flame until the halwa starts leaving the sides of the kadai
In this stage immediately transfer it to the ghee greased pan
Spread with fried cashews and allow it to cool
After getting cool your halwa is ready to scoop and enjoy

4. WHEAT PAKODA


INGREDIENTS

wheat flour 100g
onions 2
grated carrot 1
chilli powder 2tsp
currry leaves
salt
water

PREPARATION

take wheat flour in a bowl
add chopped onions, grated carrot, chilli powder, chopped curry leaves, salt as per taste
mix it well, then add water little by little and mix it to a pakoda batter consistency
leave it for 5 to 10 minutes
now heat oil in a kadai
split your pakoda on to it and deep fyr it till it becomes crisp texture
now take it out and serve hot with coconut chutney if required

5. WHEAT GHEER


INGREDIENTS

wheat rava 1cup
milk ½ lit
sugar 2cups
cashews
dry grapes
milk maid

PREPARATION

Heat a kadai, add 3 tsp ghee and fry yours cashews and dry grapes
take out that and now add wheat rava and fry it for few minutes
then add 1 cup of boiled milk and 1 cup of water
once your wheat gets cooked finely add sugar and mix it continuously
now add 3 to 5 spoons of ghee

PAPAYA FOR YOUR FLAWLESS AND GLOWING SKIN

Papaya suits for all type of skin,

  • Oily skin type – Add multhani mitti to mashed papaya as it obsorbs oil.

  • Non-sensitive skin type – can use unripen papaya as it contain more papain gives best result.
  • Sensitive skin type – should not use unripen papaya ,it may cause irritation or allergy. Can use ripen papaya.

Papaya face packs

1. Brightening skin

Slice the ripe papaya and gentely rub the slice on your face,neck,hands and legs. Allow to dry and wash with luke warm water or cold water. You can repeat this 2 or 3 times a week.

As a face pack
  • Mashed ripe papaya- ½ cup
  • Lemon Juice – 1 whole lemon

Mix above ingredients and apply on your face and neck, leave it for 30 minutes. Then wash your face with luke warm water. Do this once in a week.

For sensitive skin
  • Green papaya smashed-1 cup
  • Honey- 1 tea spoon
  • Yogurt- 1 tea spoon

Mix the above ingredients and apply on your face and neck. Leave it for 15 minutes, then wash your face with cold water. Do this once or twice in a week.

    2. Moisturising/Anti-aging

As a face pack
  • Ripe papaya- ½ cup
  • Raw honey – 1-2 drops
  • Milk cream- 1 tea spon

Mix the mentioned ingredients and apply on your face and neck, leave it for 15 minutes. Gentely rinse the face with cold water and pat dry.

    3. Lightening skin/ avoid pigmentation

As a face pack(for non-sensitive skin)
  • Greenm papaya - 1cup
  • Vitamin E oil -1 teaspoon
  • Raw honey-1 teaspoon
  • Plain yogurt- 1teaspoon
  • Basen (optional) – 1 teaspoon.

Grind all mentioned ingredients to fine paste, apply on your face & neck. Leave it for 15min then rinse with luke warm water, again rinse with cold water and pat dry.
Face pack (for sensitive skin)
  • Ripe papaya –1/4th
  • Cucumber – 1/4th
  • Ripen papaya – ½

Peel the skin and blend the ingredients tillit make a smooth paste,apply on your face avoid around eyes and mouth. Leave for 30 minutes, rinse with cold water and pat dry.

    4. Reduce Acne

  • Make a fine paste of raw papya – 1/2cup
  • Apply on face
  • Leave it for 30 minutes
  • Wash your face with luke warm water.

Zika Virus and Its Prevention


Zika virus is a disease caused by virus transmitted through aedes mosquitoes which is causing dengue, chickengunya and yellow fever. These aedes mosquitoes bite during morning, late afternoon and evening.


Symptoms:
Infected persons may experience
  • Mild fever
  • Joint pains
  • Skin Rashes
  • Muscle pain & head ache
  • Conjuctivities (Red Eyes)
If pregnant women affects with zika virus may lead to birth of microcephalus baby.

Preventive Measures:
  • Avoid mosquito bites.
  • Sleep under mosquito bed nets.
